This will not work.
Your customer has shot himself in the foot. If you just copy old stuff,
you will be missing parts required for the new.
He has two choices.
(1) He can customize his running 5.1 system from scratch
(2) He can re-install his 4.1 system (somehwere else if has another
machine) and follow the procedure outlined in the 5.1 Release Notes for
doing a migration, which is what he now says he wants. That means he has
to run the migration script to
create a directory called "/usr/OV.back.v4r1". He then has to re-install
5.1 on his current machine with that directory present. The install
scripts will find it and merge his old customiztion with the new stuff
required for V5.1. Nothing else is guarnateed to work.

Subject: Netview Upgrade
Hi,
My customer wants to make a freshly installed Netview 5.1 have identical
confiuration with what he had for Netview 4. Unfortunately, he has
wiped out the system for an OS upgrade, but not before backing up the
entire system.
Now, how can I port over all the configuration previously used in
Netview 4. Can I just copy over the conf files in the /usr/OV/conf
directory to the new installation? Are there any other files I need?
Please advise. Thanks.
cheers,
Jeanie
