The only problem with the web based solution is that it is not very stable.
When I went to class, as part of the lab exercise, we had the web-client
running and found it had some bugs. The instructor agreed that Tivoli had
to iron them out.

If you've not seen the web interface on NV5.1, you my want to check that
out
before you buy an Xstation. It gives you the same map view - with
background images and all - as the Netview console, allowing you to view
the
network, status changes, acknowledge devices/events, etc. If this station
does only need to monitor the network, but not change the netview maps,
etc,
a powerful PC (with lots of RAM) and netscape or ie may be an easier
solution.

We need a replacement for the current IBM Xstation 150 with a 6091 19i
monitor.
We need to implement multiple network stations within our Network Center to
continually display different Netview maps. Running Exceed on PCs, used
for
many other purposes, isn't the solution we are looking for. We want it to
be a
display that is up at all times for the purpose of continual monitoring.
Our
RS6000 platform is the J40; we are in the process of upgrading from Netview
V4R1
to Netview 5.1 at this time. The network stations would be connected on
100MB
ethernet.

Hardware (network station, monitor, mouse) and software configurations
would be
helpful.

Thank you.
