Time for ovstop with Nways

Why does it take forever (well, at least 10 minutes) to stop the NetView
daemons when I have loaded up Nways LAN & ATM??  ovstop completed in
less than 1 minute beforehand.  Are there some locks / time delays that
get introduced by the Nways daemons?

Any elucidation / workarounds gratefully received,
