Carlo -

I have no idea how to solve your problem because I do not know what
(exactly) is causing it.
The questions I asked you only serve to isolate the problem to netmon, who
is the author of the trap you see. It would be he who supplies the text
for the $3 in the trap.

Why is he unable to resolve the environment variable " NetView_Manager_F
xxxx" (I don't even know the full name of the variable) correctly, I cannot
tell you, since I do not work on netmon. If you want real help you will
have to open a problem to Support.

Hi Shanks,

the output after the event (58916964) test command is:
Thu Apr 29 11:00:01 1999 test1 d NV6K Up.

By xnmtrap I see that the situation is like you say; I have $3 in the log
message.
I can put the name of the NetView Server there, but I believe that when
trap is generated automatically $3 must to be NetView Server Name...

What is the best way??
