I have no ideas so I hope someone else can answer.
Here is a suggestion if it happens again- while NetView is still running open
another window as root. Run /usr/OV/bin/nvauth and log in as a user with
sufficient privileges to run nvsec_admin, then run nvsec_admin. Under
Options..Query All it will show you who is logged into NetView and what group
they belong to. I have just tried this and it did show two people logged in,
one the user running NetView. This may give you some clue what is going.
We are also running NetView 5.1 at the moment and have problems with nvsecd
dying. Are you running a script which restarts it when it dies - could this be
a cause of the problem? I cannot say as we have not bothered to do this yet.
