Sadly, there isn't much in terms of "Comprehensive" database
maintenance on Netview NT. With NT netview, the topo, mapdb, and ovwdb
is still located in \usr\ov\databases\openview, the event and
snmpcollection database should be located under \usr\ov\databases\odbc.
Unfortunately, ovtopofix in NT doesn't contain all the functionality
as it does in Unix.

For the db's under \openview\, I just backs them up using XCOPY running
from NT scheduler. To compress the standard databases, I think you
have to use the Microsoft NTFS compression, (go to the Properties page
for the Value_info.pag and select compress or just compress the entire
directory).

If you are using Access databases, you have to go to the ODBC DSN
properties, and select Compact.

For the SQL Server databases, you have to setup maintenace on the
databases. Since I am not a SQL person, I just use the Maintenace
wizard came with the SQL Enterprise manager. The standard setup for
SQL is very minimum, make sure you expand the tempdb to about 100 MB to
accomdate all the events and snmpcolletions. Otherwise, your NV.LOG
will start to explode with "segment full" messages.

If you don't care about the events or the snmpcollections, you don't
have to restore them when you restore the db's under
\usr\ov\databases\openview. In case you have to, I would suggest setup
regular backup of the Access database or schedule database dumps of the
Netviewdb in SQL Enterprise manager.

Hope this helps
