Thanks Ziyad and Ken for your replies, Yes Ken there was a problem with name resolution. I saw your replies after the fact since I was working in an area where I couldnt check for mail from this forum. Anyway nslookup could resolve hostnames non authoritatively which led me to beleive this was related to the problem so I decided to use /etc/hosts to do resolution. Once I did this I was able to first de-install framework and then reinstall sucessfully... although I have to admit it was the 4th iteration of this process that was finally successful . I have also continued on and installed the NetView server code on this managed node. Again thanks for you replies Greg Adams |
