I would say that the log entries are normal at this point. The OPEN is a
registration process and the fact that you don't see an error message
indicates that the agent has connected. But as to why it is not working
the way you expect I have no idea.
How are you trying to get this MIB info? From the browser? You type in
the node name (I guess the very same NetView box), browse the MIB down to
some level, and try to get an instance with Query but get nothing back?
Are you sure your procedure is correct? Can you get the basic SNMP sysinfo
for example?

And how about trying snmpget? If you build an snmpget query for the
correct MIB does that work?

The only other thing I can suggest is that you contact the vendor --
Netscape.

Allright, first I wanna say thanks for all the help.

I thought I had it all working yesterday, but Netview still doesnt get any
values for the MIB Values from the Netscape Enterprise Server.

I changed the snmpd.conf and .peers files to what i think is the right
setup, because the snmpd.log files indicates that it is
communicating with netscape.

Should there be a notice indicating the smux register routine is being
called?
