AW: Thresholds on Cisco locIfInCRC - delta values
I'm working on Netview/AIX platform and there is a possibility to change the
data type for
data collections. Have a look into /usr/OV/conf/mib.coerce. I don't know if
it is the same for
Another way is to configure Alarm/Event thresholds with the "rmon"-command
on cisco routers. Then the router sends a snmp rmon trap after reaching the
specified threshold value. I guess it should work for every mib variable
with data type of integer/counter/gauge.
Hope this helps.

Betreff: Thresholds on Cisco locIfInCRC - delta values
I am trying to produce threshold traps triggered by Cisco CRC errors
(locIfInCRC), and I am wondering how (or when) Netview calculates delta
values in collections. My problem is that thresholds are not generated based
on the delta value for locIfInCRC, but rather the actual value (I want to
generate a threshold when locIfInCRC
increases by 1). The data type for locIfInCRC is "integer", however the
actual value for locIfInCRC always increases, so why isn't it a "counter"
My assumption is that Netview only calculates delta values on "counter" data
types. Is this correct?
Platform: Netview/NT 5.1.
