Hello All.

I have an interesting issue...

I have 6 Netview 5.1.1 cleints and one Netview 5.1.1 server.

Up until this point I was under the impression that the first Netview user
to open the Map gets readWrite access, regardless of what Netview group they
belong to. So, if an member of the oper group logged in, then he/she would
have readWrite access. And, there can only be ONE readWrite map. Is this
correct?

All of my Netview Clients are forced to log in using the -ro option.
So, just then on my server, I tried logging in as an operator into Netview
(without the -ro option) and I only recieved readOnly map permission. Then,
if I log in as SrAdmin, I get readWrite map access!

Shoudn't I have got the readWrite as the operator on the server??
And what role does being the root(AIX) user play into all of this.
This is very confusing I know.

Can anyone explain how this is suppose to work??
Also, each client has it's own ovw ?? So, if I did not force them to log in
with the -ro option, could they get a readWrite?? Is there a command to list
all of the maps that are opened and there read/write permissions??

Any help appreciated.

Gord.
