I have never seen anything such as you describe specific to NetView for NT and
I doubt you will find anything for a product less than two years old. So why
not start here with your questions?

I work with MIBs and traps every day, and I would be glad to help, but I must
say that from your description I don't understand what you are trying to do.
You said:

But I'm confused. An interface does not have an OID as I understand it, it has
an ifType and an IP address. An agent, such as an SNMP agent, may have an OID.
And the agent would be the author of the trap and the supporter of the MIB (the
one who populates its values). But then you don't create Enterprise Ids for
them -- agents already have them. You just add them to NetView so that you can
control how the trap is displayed.

So pardon me if I have completely misconstrued this, but I don't understand what
you are trying to do. Are you getting some traps in NetView NT which you don't
understand or are trying to format differently? Are you trying to get an agent
to send you traps that you don't get now? The former you do with NetView, the
latter you do elsewhere -- at the agent itself.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to supply more information and ask more
questions.

I need a good source describing various MIBs and their relationship to
setting Enterprise TRAPS on NetView for NT.
Does anyone know any good websites, books, manuals, .etc that may help me
out here? Specific to NetView for NT.

I'm having difficulty getting the OID values of unique interfaces on routers
and also services on Microsoft NT machines.
When creating new Enterprise IDs for them and creating a custom TRAP, they
do not work. It's obviously something I'm not doing
right.

I need a better grip on understanding MIBs and TRAPs for NetView for NT.

Thanks,

Larry
