After you get the code image (from ftp.tivoli.com/support/SIA), the
simplest thing is to put it in the directory conventionally used for
code images (/usr/sys/inst.images) and use smit as you would
for any 'normal' product on AIX. The initial install leaves it up and
running, but the installation of the PTF leaves it down. Restart it with
/etc/usr/smsia. The startup at boot is done in /etc/rc.tcpip.

Note that the SIA requires a bos.compat.?? component that will be
on your Netview server already, but may not be on your other
AIX V4 systems so the install will fail on those until you install
that component. Look at the .toc file on /usr/sys/inst.images
after you install it on the local system to see what the prereq
is exactly.

HI folks

This is a trivial question but I am new to netview.

How do we install the sia daemons (sysinfod) on a agent which is an AIX
server.
