Ooops. I forgot to answer Markus' question.
The problem being discussed is unique to NetView NT -- only NetView NT has
components named trapfrwd and eventlog.dll.

There is no web site for NetView fixes. If you need one, then you must call
Support and describe the problem you are having. If you are not having a
problem now, then I would advise you to wait a couple of weeks until the next
round of maintenance (5.1.2) is available. It is in Verification now and will
be in customer hands before the end of this month.
As with 5.1.1, it should be autoshipped to all customers of record with current
maintenance contracts.
I will post a notice here when it becomes available.

You would happened to have that eventlog.dll fix. I've searched tivoli web
site and can't seem to locate it let alone the netview fix area. Thanks,

The trapd.exe fix was actually for forwarding events
other than standard Netmon events to trapfrwd.exe.
The apar is PJ26332. There was another event related
efix, it was PJ26414. It was specifically for Netview
NT 5.1.1 with SQL as the database backend for the
events. The problem arises when the number of event
reaches the limit you specified (default 10000), and
when it couldn't purge the excess messages, trapd
fails. The fix was a new eventlog.dll.
I had both fixes installed, so far had worked fine for
me. Hope this helps.
