hmm, I don't know much about AutoCAD native files but find it hard to believe
that they are more compact than GIF files... anyway, the abitlity to support
multiple Graphic file formats sounds like a great feature suggestion... I'd put
in a request to netview@tivoli.com

Hello:
I too have had the same problem. I beleive an older version of GIF is
required. It's rather annoying since
I seem to need to use older GIF generators to create files I can use. Also
the requirement to use only GIFS
seems to be true. Bitmaps, JPEGs, etc. are no good.
It would be nice to use a AutoCAD generated floorplan as a background
without turing it into a hugh GIF file.
Computer Associates Unicenter can do that ...

Subject: Background file
Hi all,
I've tried to create a custom background graphic in GIF format to put on a
NetView 5.1.1 (AIX 4.2.1) submap; when I go to Edit --> Select background
file, I can select the file I want through the 'Select' button, but when I
click on OK, I get the message "background file not found"; the file
permissions are correct.
Is it possible that NetView only recognizes certain GIF formats(!!!???) or
certain colors ...
Please advise.
Thanks
Al
