The little 'm' option (-m) only works for specific traps. You must use xnmtrap
and click the Forward Trap button for each trap you want to send when you use
the -m option. To send all traps you use the big 'M' option (-M) and then you
don't have to configure specific traps -- they are all sent no matter what.

But cannot your Compaq servers send to more than one trap destination? Most snmp
agents can. It seems to me that this way would give Compaq Insight what it
needs most, but I am only guessing here.

Subject: Forwarding SNMP-traps to Compaq Insight Manager

Dear All,

Is it possible to forward events/traps to another SNMP-Manager than NetView,
like Compaqs Insight Manager?
We have many Compaq servers configured with one trap destination to our
NetView/AIX 5.11.
Now we need more trap destinations to further NT-Machines with Compaq Insight
Manager installed, which have to receive those traps too. But I don't want to
touch all the (productive) Compaq servers to add another trap destination for
each CIM. I simply want to forward the specific Compaq traps to those CIMs.
I tried it with the -m option in trapd. But no trap leaves from NetView.

Thanks in Advance for any help

Greetings Swen
