I believe most customers would have trouble cost-justifying the size
of box it would take to support 40 gui users concurrently. I would bet
that 30 of those users could get by with the web client.

One arrangement that I have been seeing lately for operational
support groups that sit in one room is this: The main map and maybe
the Collections submap are open on a big monitor in the front of the
room, and each user at their desk is set up with the web client ready
to navigate when they see something up there that interests them.

Another approach is several Netview Clients with multiple users
on each client using X-emulation.

But no, I don't believe there is an architectural limit to the number of
clients or users, it is just a question of how much hardware you have.

Let's hope all of those users with large configurations chime in with
their experiences.

Cordially,

Hi

Is there a maximum number of NetView GUIs that can be opened on one NetView
5.1.1 for AIX server ? or a maximum number of NetView-Users ?
I'll be having around 40 users. Is it better to install NetView clients with
NFS mounted databases or to use X-emulation ?
Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

Alain
