No, this cannot be done. As it says in the Release Notes, AIX and Solaris may
mix clients and servers, but Digital UNIX must use only Digital UNIX. There
would have to be a complete re-write of the client/server connection to provide
conversion between the big endian encoding used on Solaris and AIX and the
little endian encoding used on Digital, which would mean that every database
call would need a new field in the API. Not likely to happen any time soon if
ever.
Ditto for NT -- NT clients can connect only to NT servers.
