For customers implementing the full-bore Tivoli solution for systems
management,
Tivoli Distributed Monitoring (aka Sentry) is the strategic solution.

However, for those customers wanting to do snmp-based monitoring of systems
from their network management station, the Systems Monitor solution is
still
available. The MLM component is skipped with Netview V5+, the SLM no longer
exists (distribute as many MLMs as you want), and the SIA has been
'functionally
stabilized'; that is, it is available free of charge (and free of support)
via ftp at
ftp.tivoli.com/support/SIA. There are versions for AIX, HP-US. OSF1, and
Solaris.
The only one I have used is the sia for aix, and it is as slick as ever. Be
sure
to get the latest PTF for it when you get it. And it is y2k-ready.

And be sure to use the latest MLM, that is the one that comes on the
Netview 5.1.2
upgrade CD.

Cordially,

Hello, all!

Can anyone tell me what product replaced (if at all) Systems Monitor
(SMSIA)?

Thanks.
