The major problem of Netview/NT (V 5.1.2) is that if you want to creat more maps
next to your defaultmap (for special handling), the listing in the
object-database shows just one entry for each object:

FIELD NAME FIELD VALUE

OVW Maps Exists 1!!

OVW Maps Managed 1!!

If you delete an object completely from one map, it will be deleted in all maps
and in the object database. This bug just exists for Netview/NT.

You can find out what release of NetView for NT you are running by clicking on
"Help" and then "About NetView" , like any other Windows program. There is a
version number in the Tivoli logo which comes up every time the GUI is started.

What component are you looking for a bug in Matt? Are you referring to the
trapd purge thing? That's easy enough to spot if you have it. The event
browser stalls and you get messages on the screen and in the nv.log about the
purge failing.

But the only way to get fixes is to contact Support, because there is no newer
level of maintenance available than 5.1.2, so anything you get is by defintion,
a "e-fix" or temporary binary replacement.

Hi,

as I recall there was a fairly major bug in Netview/NT (and Unix) 5.1.2 when
it was initially released, and I was wondering how I can find out which
release I am running?
I have tried searching the archives at LISTSERV@UCSBVM.UCSB.EDU with INDEX
NV-L, but I haven't received a reply in the last 5 days. As I remember there
was a post by James Shanks explaining this bug - does anyone still have this
email from Sept/Oct?

Regards,
 Matt Moore
