The setup_env.sh script is provided by the Tivoli framework. If you have a
problem with it, then you need to contact Tivoli/IBM service and report it if
you want that fixed. NetView does not provide this script.

|I'm also running NetView 5.1.2 on a standalone 2-way SMP F-50 under AIX 4.3.3.
The only issue I have run into is that the following environmental variable
needs to be set:
|
|XENVIRONMENT=/usr/sbin/X11r5/Motif1.2
|
|This variable must also be set this way for Cisco's Essentials and CWSI.

Hello,

I had another problem with Netview 5.1.2 on AIX 4.3.2. After installing
netview on this system, I can't start the GUI of ADSM Version 3, Release
1, Level 0.7! Only the command line interface works. After reading the
suggestions on this list I've tried with the XENVIRONMENT, but this did
not solve this problem. But I tried the GUI from another userid and whoops
it started correctly. What was the difference between those userids? With
root the tivoli environment was envoked (needed for tivoli console!) and

/etc/Tivoli/setup_env.sh

sets the LIBPATH to

/usr/local/Tivoli/lib/aix4-r1:/usr/lib

which prevents dsm from starting. Changing the order to

LIBPATH=/usr/lib:/usr/local/Tivoli/lib/aix4-r1

helps. When I modify /etc/Tivoli/setup_env.sh, next update of this script
will bake out the modifications. So it should be changed by Tivoli!

Kind Regards

Guenter

P.S.: With Tivoli/lib before /usr/lib I get the error messages:

# dsm
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program dsm because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol XmeFlushIconFileCache in /usr/lib/libDtSvc.a is
not defined.
0509-023 Symbol XmGetIconFileName in /usr/lib/libDtSvc.a is not
defined.

0509-023 Symbol XmeGetMask in /usr/lib/libDtSvc.a is not defined.
        0509-022 Cannot load library libDtHelp.a[shr.o].
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a
valid format.
