We are one of the shops who is experiencing this phenomena. I don't think it is
related to the client software such as exceed. We use exceed, but we also have
AIX workstation clients and we do not notice any difference between the two
client types. The worst latency we see is from demand polls - we can wait up to
20 minutes to get a status change on it (when the R/W map is down), which makes
me think that its Netmon doing the update at the regular poll cycle.

If anyone does open a problem on it please let the forum know. I for one am very
interested. We are rolling out about 6 attended MLM servers at the moment; once
we get caught up with that I will open a problem myself.

There has been discussion of this latency business here more than once over
the last
couple of months. There is no documented reason for it. If you believe you
are experiencing
this phenomenon, you will have to open a call with Support and let them go
through some
diagnostics with you, so they can determine that it is really happening,
and if there is a
code cause for it. Someone has to report it for it to be recognized as a
problem.

 Hello everyone,

     Netview for AIX 5.1.1
     AIX 4.3.2

Usually I 've one map opened in Read/Write map and 3 or 4 opened in
read only map.
The maps opened in read only, suffer latency to update the state of
the objects respect the real situation
     showed by the read/write map.
The maps are all opened by X-Window program (Exceed) on Windows-95
systems program.

Is this a known problem ?
Is Netview Client the right solutions to avoid this problem ?

Any helps would be appreciated.

Thank you
