Larry -
Just make a backup copy of trapd.conf and then edit the original. Issue event
-e FMTCHG and trapd should reload the trapd.conf. If your change is good, it
will reload fine. If it isn't, you should get an error message telling you
where you went wrong. I don't recommend this often but for a change this
trivial, I'd say "go for it".
If you really want a mapping, look at the trap in Trap settings before and after
you change it and see how it changes.

Subject: [NV-L] TRAPD.CONF
I had this trap set up on my old system.:
Older trap:
TRAP {1.3.6.1.4.1.2510} -1 0 a 2 0 "Application Alert Events" !
I've rebuilt my Netview server recently and now this trap has a slightly
different value. I really need to change the "4" to "2" to keep the match,
but I'm not certain which trap properties would change this.
Anyone have any ideas how these values correlate to trap properties?
Current trap:
TRAP {1.3.6.1.4.1.2510} -1 0 a 4 0 "Application Alert Events" !
(I'm using Netview for NT 5.1.2)
Thanks for any help.
Larry Chance
