I have used nvUtil for "porting" the SmartSet (collection) definitions from
one server to another before, and you have to do some editing to make it
work. What I have found that works even better is to run the "colmaint -d"
command. It will save the SmartSet definitions to
/usr/OV/conf/collection.conf by default. You can specify another file after
the -d flag if you want. Copy the file to the other server and run
"colmaint -l", and all of the collections will be added. I think that you
may need to stop/restart the GUI and maybe even the nvcold daemon to pick up
the new SmartSets.

See the man page for the nvUtil command. I believe you should be
able to do what you need to with that.

Subject: [NV-L] Porting Collection group definitions
We are supporting multiple netviews and I would like to be able to port
from system to system generic collection groups that have been set up.
What file contains the actual group defintions that are defined? I know of
snmpCol.conf and the mibExpr.conf for the mib expressions that are defined
but I am looking for the file that contains the group definitions that we
defined using object attributes.
Thanks.
