The functionality of those patches appear to have been included the TEC Console
3.6 but the patch-ids to indicate it have not. So you will still have to install
those TEC Console patches for TIPN no matter what level of TEC you have.
An error installing the 3.1-TEC-0012 patch is not unusual. This is documented in
the TIPN User's Guide on pg. 6-4. I have seen variations in the error but it is
harmless. The subsequent install of the 3.1-TEC-0030 patch will usually be
successful. I would avoid using SIS for the installation since no TIPN component
was tested using SIS as the installation method. I cannot be sure the error is
not related to SIS. I would suggest:
1. Remove the patch flag files, $BINDIR/.installed/pa_TEC31_0012_BIN and
$DBDIR/.installed/pa_TEC31_0012_DB
2. Reinstall the patch 3.1-TEC-0012 using "Install Patch".
3. Install the 3.1-TEC-0030 patch using "Install Patch".
If this has a problem, I suggest opening a pmr with support.

Hi,
I'm busy testing the NetView/TEC integration component of the Tivoli
Integration Pack.
The pre-installation tasks consist of installation of a few patches : 2 TEC
patches + TIPN patch
Having TEC 3.6, I thought the TEC patches weren't necessary; but when I
tried to install the component it said the prereq patch is needed ....
nevertheless when I install the 1st patch "TME 10 Enterprise Console Patch
3.1-TEC-0012 (NetView Integration II)" .... I get an error message (see
below)....
Can anyone help me on this matter?
