Than you for your response Garry.

I'm running NV 5.1.2 so if you can give me your perl program it would be
helpfull.

Thanks in advance.

Alexis,
On version 6 of NetView, in the \usr\OV\tcl directory there is a program
called iface_status.tcl. This emulates a mid-level-manager trap, and
therefore will change the status of the interface-icon.

Do realize though, that this status can still be changed to something
else by netmon.

If you don't have V6 let me know... and I'll send you a perl-implementation
of this program.

Regards,

Gary Boyles, Intel

Hi all!

I tried to use nv6000 58916871 trap to set the status of an object. I
received
the trap in my workspace but the node on my map stayed to normal status.

I tried:

snmptrap 159.50.2.76 .1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 159.50.2.76 6 58916871 0 \
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.58916871.1 OctetString 14 \
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.58916871.2 OctetString sxanitrt5202.bnp.fr \
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.58916871.3 OctetString "Object status is" \
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.58916871.4 OctetString $status

with $status in : User1, User2, Up, Down ...

159.50.2.76 is the IP address of my netview server, its selection name is
sxanitrt5202.bnp.fr .

What am i doing wrong?

Best regards.
