Hi again My problem seems to be resolved by doing the following steps: - turn on the -l flag of netmon (manage devices added by loadhosts) - then use loadhosts to add the router: echo "<IP address> <routername>" | loadhosts -a -m 255.255.255.0 -p -P Now the object shows up as an generic icon and after the first demand poll it gets the correct SNMP-icon. Somehow, the first and second time I got entries in the demand poll window saying that netmon deleted the node (and he did so). I found out that my entry !@oid0 in the seedfile was the reason for that (some non-identified components seem to be non-SNMP). After doing some cleanups (ovtopofix -a, ovmapcount -a, ovwdbdmap -c) and re-adding the router with the loadhosts command it finally got stable. I think now it's a good time for the weekend...Andreas -----Original Message----- From: Kuffer Andreas [mailto:Andreas.Kuffer@KUONI.CH] Sent: Freitag, Juni 02, 2000 10:05 To: 'nv-l@tkg.com' Subject: [NV-L] problems discovering Cisco 7206 My seedfile consists only of two lines 10.1.1.4 10.1.1.5 I doublechecked that the read community is fine. It seems to me that he did not discover SNMP Supported on 1.1.5. Depending on how you have discovery setup, it would not put it on the map if you have "not snmp" in the seedfile. again
My
problem seems to be resolved by doing the following steps:
-
turn on the -l flag of netmon (manage devices added by
loadhosts)
Now the object shows up as an generic icon and after the first demand poll it gets the correct SNMP-icon. I think now it's a good time for the weekend...Andreas
