Hello Leslie,
My webserver runs on port 8069. From my dos prompt I will start the nvcw
using the command ncvw.bat <hostname or IP address> 8069 . The client
comes up and I have no problem displaying the events, server status, etc.
Then I try to open a map, a message appears in the dos window I used to
start the client:
connecting to port 33xxx.
I brought up nv web client on a server that is not going through a firewall
to get to NV Web server and had no problem bringing up the map, thus the
reason for my posting and my question.
Thanks

I never see that. Are you specifying :8080 on the url as specified in the
release notes?

Subject: [NV-L] NV web client
I'm running NV6.0 on AIX 4.3.3. I've loaded NV client on my workstation and
when I try to open a map I get a mesasge on my console saying :
"Trying to connect to port 33xxx"
The map never comes up. I am going through a firewall to get to the NetView
server and it is blocking those ports.
I would like to know if this functionality NV web Client has uses random
ports or if it has a specified range of ports it uses? Is there a way to
limit this to one port as well?
Thanks
