You can have part of what you want but not all of it.

You could have ovw not start nvevents by removing the -Initial flag as Leslie
described and then on your other screen you type in "usr.OV/bin/nvevents". Now
you have them separated. The only drawback is that you cannot do "Highlight
node on map" from that nvevents, because it is not connected to the map any
more, nor can you send it the 56916871 status trap and have it affect the map
for the same reason.

But ovw could not start it over there because it has room for only one display
variable. In fact I have never heard of a typical X-application which would
do what you suggest. The idea behind separate screens was for separate apps,
not pieces of apps, at least as I understand it.

Hi,

Another question. If I start a control desk manually, is there a
a way to tell him to use a different DISPLAY. I mean: I have a
workstation with a dual screen. The X server sees the displays
as localhost:0.0 and localhost:0.1. And there is no way to drag
one window from one to the other. My dream would have been to have
the map on one screen, and the event window (or control desk) on
the other one.

Impossible, I guess?
