Leslie,
Here is the field definition...
Field "OSC_Info" {
Type StringType;
Flags general, locate;
}
No, it didn't show up in the smart-set GUI. Is it supposed to?
I was able to create a smart-set using it though, by replacing the
field-definition in the "Advanced" tab window...
i.e changed... ["SNMP sysLocation"~"^GW:Server*$"]
to ["OSC_Info"~"^GW:Server*$"]
And then created the smartset called OSC_Info.
Thanks for your help.

When you created the field, did you give it the flag 'Locate'? Just
a guess. That flag is required to enable searching on the field. Does
the field show up in the smartset editor?

Subject: [NV-L] NetView NT -- tips.conf file
I am trying to add a new "tip" to the list of tips that can
be displayed. This is for a text-field I call OSC_Info that
I've creatd in the ovwdb database, and populate via some
c-code.
It appears the file \usr\OV\newconfig\console\tips.conf
contains the information I want, but if I add an entry
such as...
"OSC Information" = OVWDB OSC_Info
And restart the gui... nothing happens.
How do I add a new window tip to NetView on NT?
Thanks.
