we did some testing with central Netview/AIX 6.0 and MLM on Netview NT 6.0
as a regional manager. it worked fine regarding the polling and trap
forwarding stuff. I personally would not recommend to use MLM to collect
SNMP data (where was a good discussion on these topics months ago - you
should look up the archive).
if you are looking for good doc about implementing MLM you should get the
IBM red book "Integrating Management Solutions Using Netview Version 5.1"
(chapter 5: Netview and the MLM)

Hi,
since nvsniffer on UNIX is not as functional as on NT, has anyone
managed to have a central Netview on UNIX which uses NT based MLMs to poll,
collect snmp stats and propogate the SmartSet status' ? That way NT based
nvsniffer can provide the statsu info required and the UNIX box can deal
with the event correlation etc..
Anyone have any feedback on this, any catches (ie Does the combination work
at all) ??
