Ooops! I mis-read your original note. You were asking about the lrf file
and I thought you were asking about editing ovsuf. But the answer I gave
is the correct one -- just add the -q32 after the -u.

Well, it is not recommended that you edit the ovsuf file, because it is
built derivatively our of the various lrf files by the ovaddobj command,
which is why the sequence of commands you found is what it is. This keeps
your changes permanent and keeps you from making a mistake editing the
ovsuf, which might make that daemon or others unstartable. But the answer
to your question is that you would put the -q32 after the -u you already
have. I have forgotten where the syntax of the ovsuf file is documented
(the Diagnosis Guide?) .

Subject: [NV-L] netmon.lrf configuration?
I am attempting to "tune" NetView (6.0.1 AIX 4.3.2) due to the fact that
the
database is getting Huge, and I have a question about something in the
manual.
In the manual there is:
To increase the status monitoring response time for large networks,
consider
increasing the netmon ping queue size to a maximum of 32 (the default is
16). To
increase the ping queue size:
Add the -q32 flag to the /usr/OV/lrf/netmon.lrf file.
Type the following commands:
/usr/OV/bin/ovstop netmon
/usr/OV/bin/ovaddobj /usr/OV/lrf/netmon.lrf
/usr/OV/bin/ovstart netmon
My netmon.lrf file looks like this:
netmon:/usr/OV/bin/netmon:
OVs_YES_START:nvsecd,ovtopmd,trapd,ovwdb:-P,-S,
-s/usr/OV/conf/netmon.seed.good,-u:OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:15:
Where do I put the -q32?
Thanks.
