The current web client requires a map open on the server you are connecting
to. This has always been the case. But it is a known requirement for
development to eliminate this in a future release.

Subject: [NV-L] Map availability Netview Web client interface
To all.
With NetView v6.0 it is possible to see the NetView map using the NetView
Web client. My problem is that I cannot open a map (File => Open map)
because there is no entry to select. This entry will only be there if
someone else already opened a map using Xwindows.
Is there a way to avoid this behavior or should I always ensure that at
least one map is opened with Xwindows at all time ?
Thanks in advance and regards,
