3Com, as part of their move out of the enterprise networking market, has 
dropped the AIX version of Transcend. There is an NT version (
Transcend Network Control Services, which we use), but since we are running 
Netview on AIX, I can't attest to it's interoperatibility. I have seen 
previously on this list that the newer Transcend (5 and up) uses the same port 
(162) as trapd and cannot operate on the same platform with Netview. I don't 
know if this applies only to AIX. As to Extreme, I have no idea.
