On UNIX, no. There is no install procedure without the Framework. The
framework does the install. And on Solaris or DEC it is the Framework
which provided the configuration dialogs. In V5, you can configure without
them but only if you know what files to tailor and what syntax to use. 6.0
introduces a "serversetup" which is independent of the Framework but there
is no way to install it without the Framework. With NetView for NT the
Framework is optional because the install is done by InstallShield and the
configuration dialogs are by a product-provided "serversetup". This is
largely due to the fact that an NT Framework was not available when the
product was designed.
