There is already a hook for this, at least in V6. See these lines
in the header of oid_to_type:
# W Assume the device has a default Web management page at
# "http://hostname". The following fields will be created if
necessary
# and set,
# isHTTPSupported TRUE
# isHTTPManaged TRUE
# ManagementURL "http://hostname"
You can change the url to whatever you want using nvdbimport. In fact
you could skip the oid_to_type, I think, and add and set these fields
yourself
using nvdbimport. You launch the web page from a menu pick, I think it is
under Tools or Administer, Web, something. It is intended to take you
to the device's web server, as some devices can be configured using
built-in web servers. But I don't see why you could not use it for whatever
you like.

Subject: [NV-L] Hyperlink from within Netview.
Hello all Netviewers,
I'm running NetView 5.1.2 on AIX 4.2.1 and NetView 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3
Is anybody aware of any way to include a hyperlink (http) from NetView.
What I would like to do is add a menu item which would "activate" an http
page if youselect a device. The page should be different according to the
type of device (let's say a page for the routers, another page for the
switches, etc.)
I guess the browser would run on the RS/6000 box if we use an X-Terminal
session, or the PC browser if we use the NetView Web interface. Right ?
Any suggestion most appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Bernard Baudoux
