Yes, I've had this problem as well on v. 6.0.1 on Solaris. I ran a search on
this issue in the Tivoli Knowledge Base and found an open APAR, IY13217,
which I've copied below that describes a similar problem with v. 6.0.1. No
fix listed yet.

Subject: [NV-L] SmartSet Bug ?

Hello All,

I created a collection of objects by SNMP Object ID, 1.3.6.1.4.1.714.1.2.3.
The test of the SmartSet worked fine. There were only 10 devices in the
list. When I closed the SmartSet editor and opened the new collection, there
were thousands of node objects in the submap. Response on the R/W map became
horrendous. I then deleted the SmartSet via the SmartSet editor menu. I did
NOT select the objects in the submap. When I run ovobjprint -S there are
only 9,900 objects. At the beginning of the day, there were approximately
20,000 objects in the database as reported by ovobjprint -S! I'm not sure
which nodes or objects were deleted.

I'm running NV 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3 w/ ML #4. I wonder if anyone has
encountered this problem?

Thanks in advance.
