Hello Everyone.

I maintain a NetView 6.0.1 for Unix server on AIX 4.3.3. We had a duplicate
ip address problem at one of our sites today. We noticed it because of a
huge volume of "clogMessageGenerated traps" came in from the Cisco router
for the site. It also caused the X station server to show 0% idle on the CPU
since it had to update the Event Viewer of 20 NV users.

I was wondering if anyone has created a ruleset or configured Event
Configuration (xnmtrap) to stop posting events to the Event Viewer once they
have exceeded x/second. I want to avoid setting the trap definition to "LOG
ONLY".

Thanks in advance.
