Hello,

I recently activated the RFI feature (Netview 6.0.1, AIX 4.3.3), but I have
some questions.
I noticed that, when a router has been Unreachable, some unmanaged interfaces
were put managed.

I've got here for example a router with 3 interfaces (Serial0, BRI0 and
Ethernet0), but only Serial0 is managed.

Thu Jan 25 08:02:53 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Interface Serial0 down.
Thu Jan 25 08:02:53 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Node Down.
Thu Jan 25 08:02:53 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Interface Serial0
Unreachable.
Thu Jan 25 08:02:54 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Interface BRI0 Unreachable.
Thu Jan 25 08:02:54 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Router
zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be Unreachable.
Thu Jan 25 08:18:28 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Interface Serial0 up.
Thu Jan 25 08:19:59 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Interface BRI0 down.
Thu Jan 25 08:19:59 2001 zweveg-1-1.gkb-nv.be N Router marginal.

When the only managed interface (Serial0) goes down, I get Node Down.
I thought it should be "Router Down" , but that's not my biggest problem.
After the interface Serial0 is up again, I get an interface BRI0 down.
Netview has put the BRI0 interface managed. Why does he do that ?
I've noticed this problem on several routers and with different interfaces.
So every time I have to put those interfaces unmanaged again.

Can someone explain what 's happening here ?

Thanks in advance,
