You could have SNMP Auth Fail Traps disabled on your Cisco routers (if you
have them). That's what we've done on some routers until we can complete
an audit of where this stuff is coming from. That way you won't get traps
for now and you can deal with it in your own good time but be aware this
could be an indication of someone doing something there not supposed to on
your network.

The problem is that there are so many programs that can cause this such as
HP Jet Admin software to the newest version of Visio (Enterprise Edition)
which can poll your network. If you have a security group, you want to
bring up the problem to them and have them track it down the offenders. If
not, you may wish to disable those SNMP Auth Traps on your router if that's
where it's coming from (temporarily).

If the problem persists and the people running the software need to run the
software, make sure they have it properly configured so that they don't
trigger the traps in the first place by sticking to a local subnet or using
the correct community names.

Good luck!
