It will only show up in the New Object Holding Area of the IP Internet
level of the map if it is a Router or a Network. Things that normally
appear in the Network level submaps (Hubs, Bridges, etc) or in
the Segment level submaps (servers, printers, non-snmp nodes)
are not visible from the IP Internet level and therefore do not need
special placement and are not in the NOHA. The question then is
whether it is actually in the map or not. Use Locate to find it. Or select
the event you saw, and Options..Highlight Node on Map. It is possible
that it really is NOT in the map, indicating some sort of problem, but
most likely it is just not on the top level.
The characteristics of the different levels of the map are covered in
the Admin Guide and are worth understanding. Where a device is
placed is controlled by the oid_to_type file. (G gets it to the top level,
H or B gets it to the network level, everything else gets it to the
Segment level.)

Subject: [NV-L] New Object Holding area
Has anyone ever experienced this. When adding objects to the map the
addition triggers an alert but the object doesnt show up in the new object
holding area?
