I am not certain what you are asking. NetView can receive any trap sent to
it. You will have to make sure it gets there. The question I think you
are asking is, will NetView display the source of the trap correctly. The
answer is, "it depends". The trap will have an agent address in it in
hexadecimal. Trapd will pull that address and do "gethostbyaddress" to
resolve it. If that address resolves to different name in NetView's
environment than from where it originated, then the display will not show
the correct hostname. This is one of the problems which the Tivoli CNAT
product tries to solve -- by not just fixing the routing but also fixing
the contents of SNMP packets.
