By NNM you mean OpenView? NetView and OpenView have not shared any code
since 1993. Since then they each have gone their own way.
Generally speaking you cannot use their syntax with NetView unless it has
been in place for many years..
"ovw" does not admit such a parameter in NetView. If you try it, it will
be ignored and the GUI started instead.

Uri,
I don't have access to NetView so I can't be sure if this command will
work, but it's worth a try.
"ovw -mapcount"
That's a generic NNM command and hopefully NetView supports it.

Uri,
Here's a trick that I use to count all of the objects in a submap.
First, draw a box around all of the objects to select them.
Then, pull down Edit --> Hide objects from this submap.
The objects will all be hidden. There will be a message in the lower
right half of the window indicating the number of hidden objects.
After you have the count, just Un-hide them again.

Subject: [NV-L] How to Display Number of items
Hi all,
Does anyone knows how to display the number of item's in a specific
NV6000 map.
It might be useful to see if netmon discover all the nodes it
should.... I count the number of items
very often.
TIA
