Someone tell me where I am going wrong!!

There are a number of menu registration files,
/usr/OV/registration/C/ovip/NNM-IP.tbl is one, where the global command
is given as xnmappmon. My understanding is that xnmappmon mandates the
"-cmd" parameter?? So why do several of the action statements in this
file, like ping, not have a -cmd parameter, and how do they manage to
run anything?? Are there more built-in functions under the covers?

I know I can add in a -cmd parameter and have done so to get continuous
pings in NetView (rather than a single ping), but this still doesn't
explain how it works as shipped!

Yours confused,
Jane
