Unless you change the configuration on the router I don't see how this can
be done. The interface name is retrieved by SNMP and netmon has no
knowledge of what the DNS entry is and doesn't care. So one way or the
other, you will have to change things yourself.

Subject: [NV-L] topM interface list
hi,
i got a problem with some data in netview database which stops me doin'
some
cool reports about wide area network.
so, dns contains names of serial routers interfaces which are different
than
netview has got in the database for instance:
213 TopM Interface List "Serial2/1.106 Up
172.16.254.189 255.255.255.252 <None> Frame Relay"
"Serial2/1.110 Up 172.16.253.189 255.255.255.252 <None> Frame Relay"
dns : 172.16.254.189 wan_m_ho1_101
172.16.253.189 wan_m_ho1_102
i would like to replace this serial names for dns entry pointed to these
values. if it would be only one entry it's not a problem to use nvdbimport
command but there are few (in my case up to 20). i'm waitin' for every
suggestion and solution:-)!
