Make sure you configure NetView's trapd to listen on a different port
number than 162 as the MLM will be using this. Also configure the MLM to
forward status traps etc to the new port number you've chosen for trapd.

On a separate topic, I don't think 6.0.2's RFI feature will work correctly
in an MLM environment, so you may want to turn that off if you are using it
(on by default).

Subject: [NV-L] MLM Design

Hi all,

are there any restrictions/ known problems with the installation of
NetView (6.02) and MLM on the same system (AIX) ?

Background: Actually a central NetView manages a branch site via MLM,
now additional regional managers were requested for different reasons
(and one central system will not be capable of managing it all ...)
So the idea is to install another NetView on the current MLM and let the
MLM
work for both NetViews .... (no NT / attended MLM possible, AIX is
mandatory)
Any comment is appreciated !
