The index listed in 'Monitor...Network Configuration...Addresses'
points to the ifIndex field in the interface table. That is the instance
you need to specify. Or, from the commandline, rnetstat -I <node>.
And if you modify the MIB Application behind 'Monitor...MIB Vaues..
Interface Info' to include the ifIndex value, as Helmut points out,
you can do further correlation between addresses and what are
often virtual interfaces, just to be you have chosen the right one.

Subject: Re: [NV-L] Instances of a router
Yes, the interface index
(.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex)
corresponds to the instance number.
Look at the instances of
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName
for a the descriptive text of each interface
(but in the data collection definition you have to specify the instance #)

Thema: [NV-L] Instances of a router
Hi all,
I am collecting data of some routers and, when I customize the Data
Collection and Threshold SNMP.... one of the fields I have to fill up is
Instances. So, my question is if there is a way using NetView to see the
correspondence between the number of the instance and the IP address of the
routers cards. I mean I know there is a MIB where you can see the IfIndex
and I do not know if the number you can see in this IfIndex is the number
of each instance of the router. If so, it should not be difficult at all to
get the correspondence but I am not sure things work this way. If not, How
can I get this correspondence?
Thkx at all for your help.
