You should take a database backup with the tar instuctions. Then
treat that file like any other file and make sure TSM backs up that
file along with whatever else it backs up. After a restore from TSM,
use pax to restore the database from the tar file.

Subject: [NV-L] NetView database backup
I have NetView 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3. and CIscoWorks. We have Tivoli Storage
Manager installed in the environment.
How should I plan my NetView Server backup through TSM
1. Full System backup
2. NetView Database backup
3. Database backup of CiscoWorks
I had seen as per recommendations NetView database backup is to be taken in
tar and use pax to restore it, how can I implement in TSM environment.
Please reply ASAP as my Test environment NetView server is crashed and I
need to restore it fast.
Regards,
Santosh
