Scott,
You cannot remove a field ID from a node.
Fields are added to the object database. Once added, the only way to remove
a custom field is to remove its field registration file and CLEAR the
database.
That is an extreme measure. Just make the field value null.
NetView's object database will be just fine with a few extra unused fields
defined.
Fields information is usually suppressed if it is null. SNMP information and
a few others are exceptions.
If you can make your "isNotesServer" field null, it should not be displayed.

Hope this helps,

Don Davis

Subject: [NV-L] Remove Field ID from Node?

AIX 4.3.2 NetView 6.0.2

Is there a way to remove a field ID from a node? Example: I have created
some custom Field ID's (isNotesServer) and applied it to several nodes
(isNotesServer=TRUE) Is there a way to remove that field id when no longer
needed? I know I can change the value to FALSE using the nvdbimport command,

but I was more interested in removing it.

Thanks,

Scott
