I am trying to do here. Let you know I am little new to netview. I need to
monitor the port on which my router is connected. Monitor means I need to know
when this port will become faulty and goes down or come up etc. It will be
great if you could teach me how can I able to configure my netview to know what
weather the traffic is flowing through the port or not. Can I pull this data to
show up on a graph so that anyone can see and figure it out that weather the
traffic is going through that particular port or not. <SPAN

PORT not whole the switch. Actually I have couple of incident in which my port
when bad but I was not able to detect this. I will only get the alert if whole
switch will go down.</P>
<P class=MsoNormal>Can you please advise how I can overcome my this problem ?
Thanks</P>

<DIV></DIV>>Hello Shella,
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>what do you mean with 'monitor the switch port' ?
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Do you mean check the status (up/down) of this interface ? Then
netmon will
<DIV></DIV>>do that automatically for you. If you want to receive specific
traps
<DIV></DIV>>regarding this interface then you will have to configure the
switch to send
<DIV></DIV>>traps to Netview.
<DIV></DIV>>If you want to be aware of the traffic going through this
interface then you
<DIV></DIV>>will have to configure data collection.
<DIV></DIV>>
