Brad,

In addition to what Bill added, if you look on any Windows NT box, there
should be the default Mibs for Windows NT. Not sure if installing the SNMP
service on that box actually makes these files available. For example here
is directory output from a Windows 2000 Server with SNMP service installed:
 Directory of C:\WINNT\system32

12/07/1999 08:00a 33,298 acs.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 13,753 accserv.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 14,711 authserv.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 4,597 dhcp.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 6,179 ftp.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 48,593 hostmib.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 20,079 http.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 698 inetsrv.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 15,799 ipforwd.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 26,100 lmmib2.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 30,448 mcastmib.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 107,882 mib_ii.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 21,386 mipx.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 10,313 mripsap.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 581 msft.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 13,767 msipbtp.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 34,317 msiprip2.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 38,608 nipx.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 4,411 smi.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 49,275 wfospf.mib
12/07/1999 08:00a 26,236 wins.mib

If you have trouble locating these files (or parts thereof). If you cannot
locate these files I would begin my search using "msft.mib", as they can be
found all over the web.

Eric

Eric,

Thanks for the pointer, but I'm not user what am I looking for? I don't

Does anyone know if there is a MIB definition file for Windows NT. I
haven't been able to find one on the Microsoft website or NT Resource Kit
that describes the coldStart traps we're receiving.

Example:

997287624 3 Wed Aug 08 12:20:24 2001 en1280.metlife.com ? Agent Up
with Possible Changes (coldStart Trap) enterprise:ENTERPRISES
(1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.3) args(0):
